Official Book Description of The Jane Austen Society

Set just after World War II, in the quaint English village of Chawton, a diverse group of people unite to achieve something remarkable. Chawton was the last home of Jane Austen, one of England’s greatest novelists, and now houses a few distant relatives and a dwindling estate. As Austen’s legacy faces threats, this group, including a laborer, a young widow, the local doctor, and a movie star, come together to save her home and heritage. Despite their differences, they share a deep love for Austen’s works. Each person, dealing with personal losses and traumas, some from the recent war and others from past tragedies, finds solace and strength in forming the Jane Austen Society.

Audiobook Narration

The audiobook is narrated by the popular British actor Richard Armitage, known for his roles in “North and South,” “The Hobbit,” “Ocean’s 8,” and “Robin Hood.”
