“P.S. I Still Love You” is the perfect rom-com to watch for Valentine’s Day!

Lara Jean is back on Netflix with the sequel, “P.S. I Still Love You,” continuing the story from “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.” This time, Lara Jean Covey (Lana Condor) is ready to turn her once fake relationship with Peter (Noah Centineo) into something real. Their relationship feels even more genuine when Peter picks her up for their first date, and her dad (John Corbett) lays down some ground rules.

Things seem to be going great for Lara Jean as she enjoys going on dates, holding hands, and kissing Peter whenever she wants. However, her happiness is short-lived as her thoughts keep nagging at her, and her old love letters come back to stir up trouble. Another recipient of her middle school love letters, John Ambrose (Jordan Fisher), shows up, adding more complications to her relationships.

If you’re a fan of romantic comedies, “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” is probably at the top of your list. The original movie was incredibly charming, maybe because of the novel or the old-fashioned love letter trope. Whatever the reason, I absolutely adored the first film.

While the second novel wasn’t as great in my opinion, it’s still entertaining, and the Netflix sequel lives up to expectations. “P.S. I Still Love You” continues the cute plot with some new characters and the ones we love. Kitty remains adorable; John Corbett’s Dr. Covey is still one of the best fictional dads, and Lara Jean is wonderfully ordinary yet beautiful.

One concern I had was Jordan Fisher being cast as John Ambrose McClaren. While he’s been great in other roles, he wasn’t who I pictured for this character. Despite this, he plays the role well, even though he didn’t match my mental image of the book character. Overall, the cast is perfect.

Lara Jean’s baking skills are still impressive, and her chemistry with Peter is just delightful. The film is beautifully shot, with great production values, including stunning aesthetics and overhead shots that capture the passage of time beautifully.

Overall, if you’re looking for something sweet, “P.S. I Still Love You” is the movie for you. It offers plenty of hand-holding and leaves viewers with a smile, making it a top-notch sequel. This new romance is definitely worth watching on Netflix.

Content-wise, there are some innuendos and suggestive content (like discussions about when to have sex), but the profanity is minimal. The film is rated TV-14.
