Exciting Summer 2023 Picks: Six Captivating Reads from The Silver Petticoat Book Club

Summertime is here, and we’re excited to announce our new Summer 2023 book club picks for The Silver Petticoat Book Club! This season, we’re leaning into historical fiction from various subgenres.

We have a quick update and some info for anyone new to our book club. As an Amazon Associate and an affiliate of bookshop.org, we earn from qualifying purchases, so we might get a commission if you buy through our links. We recommend products we genuinely love and think you’ll enjoy too.

ABOUT THE SILVER PETTICOAT BOOK CLUB

Each season, Amber and Autumn, twin sisters behind The Silver Petticoat Review and The Silver Petticoat Book Club, choose six book recommendations. Our focus is on books with love stories (not necessarily romances) or Romanticism. Think sweet, smart, imaginative, or Austenesque styles, ranging from classics to debut authors. Amber and Autumn pick books that ignite their passion for reading, whether they’re fun reads or literary novels exploring humanity’s themes.

Our selected books typically range from one to three out of five on the steaminess scale and don’t usually include excessive gore, profanity, or explicit content. However, some books might contain a bit of graphic text, profanity, or violence, but it won’t dominate the story, and content warnings will be provided.

WHEN ARE NEW BOOK SELECTIONS ANNOUNCED?

New book announcements usually come at the beginning of a season, but can appear at any time during that period. You’ll have a few months to pick and read the books you’re interested in, which are also great additions to your local book clubs.

ONLINE BOOK CLUB DISCUSSIONS AND SOCIAL MEDIA

Amber and Autumn lead discussions on Facebook, Goodreads, and Instagram, giving members time to read the books first. They’ll ask for your thoughts on each book, and you can join the conversation anytime. Use the hashtag TheSilverPetticoatBookClub to show your participation and invite friends to join.

A BRIEF UPDATE

In our recent re-launch, we said we’d always include a book we haven’t read to experience it with the club. While that’s still our aim, it might not happen every season.
