But as we get older, those questions become rare. I find that pretty sad.

Keeping that childlike wonder alive is part of Romantic Living, which is something we believe strongly in at The Silver Petticoat Review.

So, today, I wanted to talk about childhood dreams and how I’m making one of mine come true—and how you can too!

CHILDHOOD DREAMS
Holding onto our dreams as we grow older can be challenging. Life gets in the way, and our dreams start to feel distant or even impossible. How do we remember those long-lost dreams, and more importantly, how do we make some of them come true?

Sometimes, all we need is for someone to ask us about our dreams to jog our memory. Just like writing down a dream right after you wake up can help you remember it, talking about your life dreams can help you hold onto them. After that, it’s all about taking action to make those dreams a reality.

WHAT IS YOUR DREAM?
So, what’s your dream? Or rather, what was one of your childhood dreams? No matter how silly, have any of them come true? I ask because I care, and I think it’s important that we continue to dream and believe in magic, even as adults.

MY CHILDHOOD DREAMS
As a kid, I had plenty of dreams. Some came true, others I’m still pursuing, and a few I’ve outgrown (like marrying Macaulay Culkin).

For example, I dreamed of being a child actress like Shirley Temple, a dancer, a cheerleader, a mother, and a writer. I also dreamed of traveling the world and living by the coast. Plus, I wanted to make everyone around me happy.

THE EVOLUTION OF DREAMS
As I grew up, my dreams changed along with me. Today, one of my big career goals is to be a successful author and run a boutique publishing and production company. It’s easy to forget these goals with the busyness of everyday life.

A CHILDHOOD DREAM COME TRUE
I want to talk about a fun childhood dream today because revisiting these dreams can make us feel positive and hopeful.

THE MMC (AKA THE ALL NEW MICKEY MOUSE CLUB)
When I was a kid, I dreamed of being a member of The All New Mickey Mouse Club (MMC). I loved the idea of being a Mouseketeer, even though I didn’t have the singing, dancing, or acting skills required.

WHY THE MMC?
For me, the MMC represented creativity and storytelling, which were big parts of my life. My father was a musician, and I spent my childhood performing in skits and plays with my siblings and friends. The MMC was an ideal place where kids like me could express their creativity.

A ‘90S KID
While I didn’t start watching MMC from its debut in 1989, by the early ‘90s, I was hooked. I watched it religiously until its final episode in 1996. The show helped me escape bullying and gave me a sense of belonging.

THE MMC30 ANNIVERSARY AND REUNION
I recently discovered that MMC is holding a 30th-anniversary reunion in May 2019. This feels like a dream come true.

ONE WAY TO REACH YOUR CHILDHOOD DREAMS
One way to reach your childhood dreams as an adult is to follow what excites you. By attending this event, I’m making a part of my childhood dream come true. It’s not too late to embrace the Mouseketeer spirit!

ABOUT MMC30
Former Mouseketeers Dale Godboldo and Chasen Hampton are organizing a reunion in Orlando. Proceeds will benefit several charities, and the event will include panels, autographs, performances, and more. My sister and I are going, and I’m excited!

SUMMARIZING – HOW TO REACH YOUR CHILDHOOD DREAMS
– Think about your dreams.
– Write them down in a journal.
– Talk about them with others so you don’t forget.
– Embrace imagination.
– Ask others about their dreams too.
– Follow what makes you thrilled and happy.
– Believe in your dreams and yourself.
– Be hopeful and optimistic.
– Have gratitude for what you have.
– Take action to make your dreams happen.

Remember, imagination has no age, and dreams are forever.
