Maybe it goes back to my childhood, re-reading L.J. Smith’s The Secret Circle, or my love for Dark Romanticism and Gothic tales with Byronic monsters. Over time, I’ve noticed that while there is plenty of talk about paranormal romance and urban fantasy books, the discussions rarely extend to the movies and shows, despite their popularity.

That’s where I step in! I’ve compiled a well-researched list of the best paranormal romance movies and shows currently available on Amazon Prime.

Paranormal romance can involve all sorts of supernatural elements like witches, vampires, ghosts, werewolves, psychics, magic, mythological creatures, superhuman abilities, fairies, immortals, and even time travel. For this list, I’ve also included urban fantasy since it’s closely related. Typically, urban fantasy features an urban setting, crime, and elements of paranormal romance.

For a deeper dive into paranormal romance, check out my other list: 150 of the Best Gothic & Paranormal Romance Period Dramas. Some of the choices here are pure paranormal romance, while others have significant paranormal romantic subplots.

Note: The titles listed were available on Amazon Prime in the US as of November 2018 and are subject to change.

50 Best Paranormal Romance Movies & TV Shows on Amazon Prime

1.
