We\u2019ve been wanting to start a book club for a while, and now it\u2019s finally happening! Welcome to THE SILVER PETTICOAT BOOK CLUB. We even got a custom logo for the group! In the future, we might send out stickers to members or let you download it. For now, enjoy the artwork on our social media channels.<\/p>\n
WHAT KIND OF BOOKS WILL WE READ?<\/p>\n
So, what’s our book club all about? At The Silver Petticoat Review, we\u2019ve always loved books with memorable love stories, from classics like “Jane Eyre” to contemporary novels like “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.” Whether popular or obscure, we enjoy finding and recommending good books with an emotional or fun romance.<\/p>\n
We started this book club to discuss great books that include a love story. It doesn\u2019t mean the books will always be classified as \u201cromance,\u201d but each book will have a significant subplot with a memorable love story. We\u2019re open to all genres, as long as there\u2019s some romance involved! Expect stories that move us, excite us, and remind us why we love reading. We\u2019re particularly interested in female authors and female-focused books, but that\u2019s not a strict rule.<\/p>\n
WHAT NOT TO EXPECT IN OUR PICKS<\/p>\n
While some of our picks might be \u201cclean romance,\u201d others might not. However, we won\u2019t include erotica. We\u2019re more interested in less explicit stories, whether they\u2019re paranormal, historical, contemporary, or literary fiction. This club is meant to be fun and not too serious. We carefully choose books we believe in and feel are worth discussing.<\/p>\n
HOW WILL IT WORK?<\/p>\n
We\u2019ll alternate between newer books and classics each month. So, half of our picks will be newer books, and the other half will be classics. We love mixing the old with the new!
\n– Newer Books: Published from 2000 till now, with a preference for newly published ones.
\n– Classic\/Vintage Books: Published before the year 2000.<\/p>\n
We\u2019ll announce the book of the month on the first day of each month. Throughout the month, we\u2019ll share fun social media posts and then discuss the book during the final week. This gives everyone time to read the book. We\u2019ll have discussion points, questions, and open discussions on social media. In the future, we hope to host live chats on Zoom or Facebook Live, and maybe even bring in guests.<\/p>\n
HOW TO BUY THE BOOKS<\/p>\n
We\u2019ll provide links to buy the books on Amazon, IndieBound, and other sites. Some books might also be available at your local library or bookstore.<\/p>\n

On July 1, 2020, we\u2019ll announce our first pick, and it\u2019s an exciting one! Expect a fun announcement. Everyone is welcome to join. We aim to create a safe, positive space for discussions. In August 2020, we\u2019ll select a classic book to read and discuss.<\/p>\n
